Inventory Tracker

Keep track of your group’s shared gear.

A free tool for logging who has what, what’s due back, and what needs fixing — and it works offline, right at the storage unit.

Download

The app is a single HTML file that opens in any browser. The guide is a PDF.

What it is

The Inventory Tracker is a single web page that runs in a browser and saves everything on the device itself, so it works with no internet, no login, and nothing to install. Load your gear once, then check items out to people and events, check them back in, and let it keep the running tally. It starts blank, so any group can make it their own.

What it does

Check in & out
Loan items to a person or event, set a due date, and see everything that’s currently out.
Damage & loss
Log anything that comes back broken or doesn’t come back; the count and the repair list update on their own.
Bins
Group items into the bins they’re stored in, then check out or return a whole bin at once.
Overdue & attention
Late returns are flagged, and a running list collects whatever needs repair or replacing.
Printable sheets
Sign-out sheets, overdue follow-ups, and repair worklists, ready to print or save as a PDF.
Publish & back up
Export a tidy inventory page for your website, and save a backup to move data or hand off the role.

Getting started

  1. 1Download both files above. On an iPad, open the app in Safari and use Share → Add to Home Screen for an app-style icon.
  2. 2Open the app and set your group name, then load your gear with Bulk add or one item at a time.
  3. 3Use it at storage, and back up now and then. Everything saves on the device, so export a backup after sessions where you changed things.
