About
Patronne Murienne l’aloiere is a gentle woman from Bar de Luc, a lovely city in the duchy of Bar, along the border of France and Germany.
Murienne is daughter to Gerald & Agnes Lonsat. At a young age Murienne showed two talents- one for cooking and one for “herding cats” (making order out of chaos).
Both of which she did with a very hands on (bossy) style. Over time as she explored and expanded her abilities she was given the name l’aloiere meaning simply, “the manager”.
Both talents have served her well in the Society for Creative Anachronism, where she has been cooking and herding cats for over twenty-five years across three kingdoms — first in Caid, then Trimaris, and now Atlantia, where she makes her home with House Fait Accompli.
The herding of cats has taken many forms. She has served as seneschal at nearly every level, from her local canton to Regional Seneschal for all of North Carolina to deputy positions serving the Kingdom, and spent three and a half years as Baroness of the Sacred Stone. Along the way she has stewarded more than twenty events and served on staff for fifty more.
The cooking has fed even more people than she has bossed around. She has been feast steward for more than thirty-five feasts, founded and led the Sacred Stone Cooks Guild, and teaches classes on medieval cookery — from spice blends and dayboards to keeping kosher in period. For these deeds and others the Crown has named her a Companion of the Order of the Pelican and of the Order of the Laurel.
To this day she can generally be found telling someone what to do or feeding them.
